Schmalz can offer a wide range suciton pads of shapes, sizes and materials. They act as the connecting element between the machine and workpiece, and are implement to lift and transport metal, wood, paper, packaging, glass.
Flat suction cups (round)
Flat suction cups with a round shape are particularly suited for handling of flat workpieces. Suction cups grip the workpiece fast and precisely due to their flat shape and small volume.
Technical data:
- diameter: 1 mm to 400 mm;
- material: NBR, SI, NK, HT1, ED, PU, VU1, PVC.
Flat suction cups (oval)
Flat suction cups with an oval shape are designed for long and narrow workpieces. Suction cups grip the workpiece fast and precisely due to their flat shape and small volume.
Technical data:
- diameter: 4×2 mm to 370×80 mm;
- material: NBR, SI, HT1, HT2.
Bellows suction cups (round)
Bellows suction cups with a round shape are particularly suited for handling uneven and arched workpieces. The folds compensate height difference, that allow to lift a workpieces of different height.
Technical data:
- diameter: 2 mm to 250 mm;
- material: NBR, SI, NK, HT1, HT2;
- folds: 1,5 to 3,5.
Bellows suction cups (oval)
Bellows suction cups with an oval shape are designed for long and narrow workpieces. The folds compensate height difference, that allow to lift a workpieces of different height.
Technical data:
- diameter: 60×30 mm to 140×70 mm;
- material: VU1, NBR, HT1, HT2;
- folds: 0 to 1,5.
Suction cups for handling sheet metal
Suction cups for handling sheet metal also with oily surfaces as well as sheet metal parts with convex surfaces. This suction cups also has a high holding forces.
Technical data:
- diameter: 25 mm to 125 mm;
- material: ED, NBR, HT1.
Suction cups for handling wood
Suction cups for handling wood, furniture parts, parquet flooring, laminated and unlaminated chipboard. Depending on workpieces, in the suction cup can be integrated a touch valve and double sealing lip.Â
Technical data:
- diameter: 50 mm to 400 mm;
- material: NK, NBR;
- separation function for porous workpieces.
Suction cups for packaking
These suction cups are characterized by a robust body and a soft sealing lip that molds to the shape of the packaging. The suction cups in the packaging industry are either made of the wear-resistant materials Elastodur and PVC or silicone, meeting FDA guidelines.
Technical data:
- diameter: 6 mm to 95 mm;
- material: NBR, ED, SI, PVC, PU, VU1;
- folds: 0 to 4,5.
Suction cups for electronics industry
The suction cups are suitable for handling printed circuit boards, blank circuit boards and other electronic components. The materials used leave very few marks and are partly ESD-compliant to enable gentle handling of the delicate workpieces.
Technical data:
- diameter: 1 mm to 40 mm;
- material: FPM, HT1, NBR, SI;
- protection against uncontrolled electrostatic discharge.
Suction cups for handling glass
Suction cups and suction plates for handling flat, smooth workpieces such as glass which depend on high lateral forces.
Technical data:
- diameter: 22 mm to 400 mm;
- material: HT1, EPDM;
- minimal chemical influence on the workpiece surface thanks to the non-marking special material HT1.
Suction cups for paper
Suction cups for handling of foils and paper. The flat sealing lip and the reinforced inside of the cup prevent that the unstable workpiece gets sucked in. These sealing cups do not leave an imprint on the unstable workpieces even at high temperatures.
Technical data:
- diameter: 10 mm to 40 mm;
- material: SI, EPDM, HT1, NBR;
- folds: 0 to 1,5.
Suctions cups for handling composites
Suction cups for handling flexible materials such as prepreg or semi-finished products made of fiber composite material. The adaptable sealing ring ensures a good seal and increases lateral forces.
Technical data:
- diameter: 40 mm to 115 mm;
- the sealing profile is changed.
Sealing profiles
Schmalz offers matching sealing profiles for suction plates specifically designed for workpieces. With these, suction plates for workpieces with special dimensions can be made. We offer sealing profiles for rough, fine and structured surfaces.
